About me:
I was born in Cleveland, Ohio, then moved to Sour Lake, Texas when I was 6 years old. I graduated from Hardin Jefferson High School in Sour Lake, TX in 1988. I attended The University of Texas at San Antonio where I played collegiate tennis, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1994. I began teaching at Dripping Springs High School in 1995 and taught for four years. I married Scott Garner in 1999, and we have one fantastic son, Jack Casey Garner who is starting his Freshman year at DSHS. I began teaching Kindergarten in 2000 at Dripping Springs Elementary. I taught Kindergarten for seven years, and First Grade for six years. I am excited to begin my fourth year as a DSISD GT Specialist focusing on Kindergarten through fifth grade. I love teaching, and look forward to a successful and rewarding year!
Teaching Philosophy:
My goal is provide a learning environment that allows students to grow in their dreams, passions, and mindset. I want students to succeed, while at the same time learn from their failures. Our class will collaborate and participate in design thinking. I want students to gain their voice, learn how to take risks, do things that are hard, and become leaders.
